Futura Medical plc is committed to enhancing shareholder value through the development of innovative, over the counter products for the consumer healthcare market, focused on sexual healthcare and pain relief management.
The following agreements have been signed for our products:
CSD500 - a condom aimed at helping healthy men maintain a firmer erection during intercourse whilst wearing a condom. Global distribution agreement with Reckitt Benckiser Group plc ("RB"). In August 2011 CSD500 was awarded a CE mark. This enables CSD500 to be marketed and sold within the EU as a licensed medical device. This classification allows the product to be sold throughout Europe in the same way as conventional condoms. In addition there are a number of other non-European territories that also recognise the CE mark process.
MED2002 - a non-prescription topical treatment for erectile dysfunction ("ED") - Global development and licensing agreement with RB.
TPR100 - a topical treatment for the provision of pain relief using our DermaSys® technology. Agreement with GlaxoSmithKline plc (GSK) for the development and potential commercialisation of TPR100. GSK will fully fund and be responsible for all clinical activities leading to regulatory approvals. Assuming satisfactory clinical outcomes and regulatory approvals both parties expect to enter into a commercial distribution agreement in due course.
PET500 - an over the counter topical product for men with premature ejaculation. In February 2011, we signed an exclusive worldwide agreement with Ansell Ltd for the distribution rights of PET500. PET500 will be marketed as part of Ansell's LifeStyles® brand and it is expected that it will be launched from July in a phased roll-out throughout the USA. Ansell will be responsible for the product's manufacture, distribution and marketing and for funding of all regulatory work. We will be working closely with Ansell on the successful completion of any clinical work in territories where regulators require additional data.
Our other drug products, which are not currently partnered, are:
TPR100-Rx - a higher strength topical product available on prescription for the treatment of profound indications such as pain associated with osteoarthritis. Under an evaluation agreement with a pharmaceutical company in connection with the development and commercialisation of the product in certain key territories.
RAD100 - a product which is designed to provide rapid local topical anaesthesia prior to injection, vaccination or cannulation.
In addition, we are evaluating the use of our proprietary delivery system DermaSys® with a range of other compounds.
