Futura Medical plc announces early progress in proof of concept study

Futura Medical plc ("Futura"), the AIM-quoted pharmaceutical and medical device group that develops innovative products for the sexual healthcare market, announces that an effective, simple technique for instilling measured doses of gel containing a vasodilator during continuous vaginal photoplethysmography has been developed by the clinical team who are conducting a proof of concept study at the Porterbrook Clinic in Sheffield .

The technique has allowed the measurement of a difference in vaginal blood circulation (a surrogate marker for lubrication) between the application of an active gel and a placebo gel.

  • International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISWSSH), summer 2004
